[50:01] 美国总统选举 从两党候选人宣布参选 到党内初选 再到最后普选投票 整个过程往往要持续一年半多 在这漫长的一年半中 最戏剧化的环节 就是候选人电视辩论 在党内初选阶段 参加辩论的人数比较多 电视辩论的次数也比较多 电视辩论一般由两党的全国委员会组织筹划 由各大电视台主持 在2012年的大选中 共和党初选阶段共举行了多达20场的电视辩论 由于在初选辩论中党内候选人彼此攻击过于激烈 导致初选结束后 最后胜出的候选人在普选阶段面对对立党派的对手时 已经伤痕累累 落了下风 所以在即将到来的2016总统大选中 共和党全国委员会决定减少电视辩论次数
[50:26] 初选结束后 两党各自提名一名候选人在普选中出战对垒 普选阶段的电视辩论一般只有四场 三场为总统候选人辩论 一场为副总统候选人辩论 辩论的组织工作由专门的总统选举电视辩论委员会负责 在2012年大选中 三场总统辩论中的第一场最为精彩 一向自诩口才出众的奥巴马 由于过于轻敌 在辩论前没有认真准备 而是跑去参观胡佛水坝 结果在辩论开始后被对手罗姆尼占尽上风 在整场辩论中始终处于绝对劣势 辩论结束后 一直在民调中落后的罗姆尼开始反超奥巴马 可惜后来因飓风等因素 罗姆尼将在辩论中获得的优势又拱手让出
